My wife has put up with my lame or botched attempts at romance for 13 years now and really deserves some flowers to go with the the homemade card she knows she will be getting this year (we are cutting costs). When we met, we had little in common and she told me flat out she wasn’t interested in a relationship, but I am a bit stubborn and she managed to overlook my motorcycle, dislike for dancing, and quite a few other things along the way to get us where we are today. So as our three kids (3, 5, 6) and I are showing her our construction paper cards, it would be really great if she could have something a little extra special. My plan would be to get an arrangement of lilies to remind her of our wedding and get my two girls each a rose.
Thanks.

I went through a rough breakup a couple of months ago. My Valentine(s) this year are my girlfriends who got me through it. I’d like to send them a little something as a thank you. Thanks

I would like to send flowers to my Mom. She’s always been there in my life and extremely supportive. I sometimes resented this though growing up because she was always in my business and trying to get me to participate and do all these things to find out what I was good at. It wasn’t until much later in life that I realized what she was really trying to do was help me become a better person. I’m still trying to become a better me, but it’s my mom I will thank for giving me a good foundation. I think she deserves flowers everyday, but since I can’t give them to her, once every year would be awesome.

I’m going to wax poetic about my wife particularly because we just spent a week at home together on vacation. We both work full-time on opposite shifts, so during a normal week we only have limited time together. We often talk by phone during the day but it’s not the same as being together. It’s almost more difficult after a week together on vacation to go back to our “normal” life and work; I seem to miss being with her more then.
She’s even more beautiful now than she was when I met her 15 years ago. I couldn’t have custom-ordered a more perfect partner than my wife. She’s smart, kind, engaging, sexy, she never takes herself too seriously and she can make me laugh until my sides hurt. I still get butterflies when she kisses me. Together we’ve raised four fantastic children that I couldn’t be prouder of; three that are grown men now. Sometimes when they talk, it’s my wife’s voice I hear-it’s her influence that made them what they are today. I give her most of the credit.
I’ll tell you one story about my wife that still makes the two of us laugh. Years ago we had a cocker spaniel, Sparky. Sparky was a few cubes short of a full tray of ice cubes; dog was cute but sure lacked smarts. When we’d put Sparky outside, he was on a runner and he hated it. After doing his business, all he did was yap his furry little head off. One day my wife called me to the back door to come look. Sparky was outside, standing there quiet as could be, just staring at the back door. My wife was overflowing with excitement thinking Sparky had finally gotten used to the runner. When she called me she said “Honey, come look..Sparky is outside and he’s not barking…he’s even smiling!” Sure enough, Sparky was stock still and it did look like he was smiling until you looked a bit closer…stupid dog had managed to flip his choker collar up into his mouth and it was pulled taunt by the runner–it looked like a doggy face-lift. So now whenever either of us do something that’s not-so-bright we always say “Honey, the dog is smiling”.

My mother worked to raise eight children as a stay-at-home mother while my father worked as a policeman. She often got down on the floor and colored coloring books with us and made Barbie clothes. My mother found time to help us with flash cards to help us do better in school. She was never too busy to read us yet another book yet another time if that’s what we wanted. My sticky fingered hugs were always welcome as were my lollypop lip kisses. When mom would take the latest baby for a walk all the brothers and sisters accompanied her like little ducklings as we went to the park for some fun. The pictures I drew at school were always “perfect” and when my grades were low she would clear the dining room table and we would study together. Somehow Mom always had the time. I only hope that I have been the kind of mother to my sons that my mom was to me. I would wish I could send my mother flowers but I know that wouldn’t begin to thank her for all that she has ever done for me.
