The Top 15 Songs to Get You Pumped Up
January 28, 2008 by jkingsbury · 36 Comments
There are moments in life when you need to get jacked up. They could be when you’re preparing for a big presentation, going to the gym, getting ready for a big game, going out for a run or just needing to feel the blood and adrenaline rushing through your veins to remind you that you are alive.
Music consisting of a pattern of sounds and silences constructed into an art form is the most consistent way that I know to get amped up. A top 10 list is too restrictive, so I busted out 15 highly diversified, high-octane songs to get you pumped up (in no particular order). Enjoy.

The Coolest Screensaver We’ve Seen in a Long Time
January 17, 2008 by stergeron · 9 Comments

Check out this ridiculously cool flash screensaver clock by Japanese clothier Uniqlo. It is called the Uniqlock and is definitely one of the coolest screensavers I’ve seen in a while.
The viral clock has attracted millions of visitors to the Uniqlo site since its launch last year. The Flash clock shows Japanese girls dancing to an infectious music beat all the while keeping you updated with the current time. The dance movements are synchronized with the music and the performers also showcase the brand’s clothes. It’s pure marketing genius if you ask me.
Wine for Beginners

As we all say hello to the new year, we all have goals and resolutions to look forward to. Whether it be weight loss, a new job or a raise in salary, I’m never opposed to someone expanding their horizons in some way. Being the advocate that I am, I’m always willing to introduce people into the world of wine. I’m still perturbed that most Americans don’t share the same enthusiasm about wine the rest of the world does. Maybe it has to do with a “high-class only” perception that wine yielded for so many decades. Wine was seen mostly as a luxury item, but those days are long gone. It is widely available, and quite inexpensive in some cases.

Those Jeans Are Tight!!! (Literally)

DISCLAIMER: This article may hurt feelings so if you are the sensitive type please refrain from reading.
Around the time I was 24 or 25 I took a look at my wardrobe and noticed my clothes were pretty over-sized. I had t-shirts and dress shirts that were XL or even XXL when I really wore a Large. I also had jeans that were 2 to 3 sizes bigger than what I usually wore. So I rebuilt my repertoire (my gear) with clothes that actually fit, not snug fitting but a more mature look. Around that time I was really into designer jeans, you would see me rocking Diesel and Paper Denim jeans all day 24/7. Getting new jeans was at the top of my list. So I did it. Within the next 2 or 3 years my jean stash was outta control. I’m talking stacks and stacks of jeans.

There’s pretty much only 2 thoughts that primarily occupy a dude’s mind. One is obvious, and the other is money. Think about it–you work, hustle, and strive for one or the other or both. Listen to what Mr. West says: “I don’t know what’s better, getting laid or getting paid. All I know is if I’m getting one the other’s getting away.” With that said, let’s focus on proper money management.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “you’re either broke or balling by the age of 30.” For some of us, that number is in the vicinity. Following these simple rules will help you in the pockets, which in turn will help you get in their pants.
